How can i validate XMail admin port is correct?
I have the server running, but when I try to connect with a remote tool
nothing happens.
The tool says it can't connect and I don't see any log files in
/var/MailRoot/logs

access it. Are your XMail running as root?

I've got Dovecot working here by just changing ownership of all the
directories in the path down to the user folders & their Maildirs.
Using Dovecot 1.0 rc.
Set up a second dovecot user and group (dovecotusers) for access to the
maildb.
Changed ownership of /var/MailRoot, /var/MailRoot/domain

I'm using a patched courier-imap (CR+LF patch)
I have DBmail working with XMail. I have a mailproc.tab file with this
line in it.
"external" "0" "10""/var/MailRoot/for_imap.sh"
"@@FILE""@@RCPT" "@@FROM"
Here is the forimap.sh file
#!/bin/sh
perl -pi -e 's/\r\n/\n/g' $1
/usr/local/sbin/dbmail-smtp -d $2 < $1
After serious crying and wailing, I managed to get Courier running with
XMail, but had to knaw off my leg to do it...
Once you manage to get it installed and configured, it works like a charm,
but it's not for the faint at heart.

I use IMAP function of DBMail on Linux, with a MySql backend.
Everything is stored in the database.

You can, however, use another Imap/pop3 server, like Dovecot, and then
just use Xmail for smtp.
This isn't too tough to do under Linux, but on Windows it may be a bit
