I am now able to run X using Vesa over FB in 1024x768 16bpp.

No luck, now instead of crashing it hangs the system
completely (can't even switch consoles now). I added
the instruction as the last module to load I do not
know whether this is important.

Adding both the options hangs the system so I suspect
Load "fb" hangs the system.

fine. On the archive I've read that the support for the ATI Rage 128 Pro
TF is added to the CVS. Does this mean, that I must download the whole
