Run VNC through an ssh tunnel by setting VNC to listen to only the loopback address and portforwarding with ssh. Use key pairs and you have strong authentication with data confidentiality. I recommend O'Reilly's "Securing Windows NT/2000 Server for the Internet" if you are interested in a concise guide for setting this up. You could also try tunneling VNC through stunnel... Leon
