You are not going to tell us that you are suggesting IPChains with FreeBSD, are you?
FreeBSD includes ipfw (ipfirewall) and ipf (ipfilter) which can be optionally compiled into the kernel. Ipf also includes ipnat which works perfectly well together. For those interested into serious firewalling on a open source UNIX or ignorant about ipf at all, please take a look at: http://www.obfuscation.org/ipf/ipf-howto.txt or the HTML version: http://www.obfuscation.org/ipf/ipf-howto.html IMO, talking about security and Linux in one breath seems to be a common issue on this list anyway. I suggest all security-oriented UNIX users to take a look at www.OpenBSD.org, www.FreeBSD.org or www.NetBSD.org. -- Security <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
