you'd have to buy a seat for a 47-47" driver.

On that last point, I just lent my "special driver" to a novice golfer friend. No, it's not my own driver; it's one I made up specially for this purpose. The club length is under 44". That's a very short shaft for a modern driver (lightweight graphite shaft, 460cc head)...

One more point about a short driver -- or at least a problem with a long driver.

I just this minute finished packing my travel set into my newly acquired Club Glove travel bag. My driver is under 45". I have a 46" 'club protector'. (That's a broomstick with a tennis ball stuck to the end of it. Prevents the airport gorillas from crunching my graphite shafts.) I barely managed to get it into the travel bag.

I really don't think it would have fit if I had a 47" driver.

Cheers!
