Personally, I don't have an opinion either way I think its a rather petty issue.

On the other hand I am of the opinion that a more appropriate place for off-topic threads such as this should be held in the forum, and only announced once to the list. Just my $0.02

I think you just proved my point. This discussion directly relates to, and may affect, siglinux. The rest of the list may wish to see your reasoning, and I DID NOT AND DO NOT WISH FOR IT TO BECOME PRIVATE.

The topic has not changed at all. I asked if you were voting to keep current behavior.

I did get what you were saying. As several other people have said, I consider it treating a peripheral case as a priority.

Right now the vote stands at about 5-2 for changing reply-top behavior.

  Jeff, you reading this?

I'm saying don't change it.

You might have missed the idea behind what I was saying.

I'm stating that in answering the question, some times the topics
stray. For instance a question might be replied to as in this case.
I might add a little info about a problem that is related and how my answer solved it. Thus another thread could be created
containing a discussion about my issue. However, that some times
is just a flat out waiste of time.

Consider this post, yes it is related to the topic at hand. However,
totally different. Should we waste time disscussing the correct subject
line. Or, just leave it along the same mailing thread, and leave well
enough alone.

Also why did you not change the subject line when you replied to the question.
Clearly this is a responce to me, and would be worthy of a new subject line. However it would seem silly to change it as it address the original response.

That is what I'm talking about. Better left as an exchange between two people.

P.S. If you've not read some of my absolutly rediculous posts to the siglinux
mailing list, then that is proof why why it should be kept as is. If you are really
inquisative, ask some people like Dan, Austin, Al how wierd I can get.

P.S.S. I skipped the spell check.

I know I fully agree with the second paragraph.

If your like me, (if you know me you might laugh at this) that some times a
reply can be totally off topic. I know I've been very pleased that I've only looked like a total fool to one person and not the entire mailing list.

So, is that worth having to change the subject line every time you post?

IOW, are you voting to preserve current behavior?
