Hi Peter, I am not in a position to give any meaningful business advice. However it sounds to me like you are wanting to make steps towards a better lifestyle. You seem like someone who values their work life. It comes down to whether you are looking for a lifestyle business, more risky, that might never succeed, but probably having some fun along the way, or slog it out and probably cash in at some point and then retire, that might be a few years, or never. It would come down to whether you think it's a financial decision or a career change is really necessary in order to keep your sanity.
You can get all the advice in the world but nobody knows what you want. Remember the grass always seems greener on the other side. Probably wise to take a break but maybe it's best to really do nothing for a while and really make your mind up. And if you do get some ideas, run with them.
