i guess you haven't hung out much with air traffic controllers :-)
as i spend so much time in the air, i take a keen interest in this topic. it may be possible for flying cars to automatically avoid each other, but until then, travelling in 3 dimensions just means the chance of collision is cubed, to 3 dimensions rather than just 1.
