That remains to be seen IMO. There seems to be a certain pull that is exerted by Hinduism that makes people stick.

That, and the name "Shiv Shastry" or "Suresh Ramasubramanian" brands us
Hindus, for all that I am more or less non-practicing (to a lesser extent
now given that my wife is religious and I keep getting taken by her to
temples and such).

If someone was asked who "Charles Haynes" was, in India, they'd reply
"Christian". They wouldnt think "Jew" unless it was totally obvious, with a
name like "Moses Rabbinowitz". Practicing, non practicing, actively pagan
etc still wouldnt matter.

ps: Given the indian diaspora you'd probably have to move to antarctica or
outer space to avoid meeting another Indian, or a sizeable community of
them ..
