Jumping in to say I was taking varying amounts of D, but small doses. After at least a year of that, though in the last few months I had increased my doses, I still had vit D of only 35.7 (bottom of range is 32). I am now trying for closer to 10,000 iu per day. No Rx unfortunately, my idiot doctor thinks my vit D level is fine. I am very curious to see how I would feel at 80 or above. From what I read online raising vit D levels can be really slow, taking many months. My former sproadic doses of 400 to 2500 iu certainly were not adequate, but I have to wonder how low I was before I started supplementing it at all.
