Bad breath comes from the stomach. You can brush till the cows come home and 
not defeat that. In Ayurveda that is a diagnostic tool. Sour bad breath = 
excess of Pitta. An excessive sweet smell = an excess of Kapha.

The tongue is the easiest way to diagnose a lot of issues.
