i've been into this health stuff since the mid "70's". grain mill,
kefir/yogurt makers, what all. was always having to dump stuff because
of the infections of crawling and flying bugs.
a lady, sharing a room with the wife in a hospital ward, realized that i
might be LDS, which i am not, explained how to keep grains, etc.,
without attracting these bugs. whenever you bring any thing home, make
sure you put the product into a airtight container, (mason jar)
(peanut butter jar) or what ever. but,,,,,,, put at least one "bay leaf"
leaf into the jar.
i've checked older jars that had been forgotten, like 3-4 years,, with
bay leaves in them, and no.................. bugs. quite
simple........................

Hi Deb:
The best bet is to keep all your starches (flour, rice, cereal) in
glass containers, or in the refrigerator. Make sure any pet food is a
sealed container as well. That way if you do get pantry pest at least
it won't spread to your other foods. Make sure you clean your pantry
well. From what I understand, pantry pests are pretty common, ick!!
