Good point I forgot to mention.
 
They have a knack of getting into things. They can make very small holes in  
packages.  you can think something is OK because it is sealed but it is  not.
 
The idea of plastic ziplocks is very good.  You have a better chance  to see 
if they have infested the food.  They are small, move fast and avoid  being 
seen.
