Alex,
My thought on the mount is that it should have two arms to
attch the radio to rather then just one arm.  The metal is
plenty heavy enough to hold the radio, but if there are two
arms then there would be two bolts also which would be much
more stable in the wind.  I don't realy think a star washer
is needed as there is already a lock washer included, but
none the less we need to have lock washers for the bolts.

As for bending the bracket like Jason is talking about.
 That can be fixed by using a mount with a small mast which
are not very expensive.  We use some kind of mount on every
install so that we can adjust the radio in every direction.
It can be as simple as a piece of pipe and some clamps with
a few lag bolts.  We have a great mount that we use for the
ABT.  I belive we get it from EC.  I can get a part #
tomorrow from the office if anyone is interested.
