Good call John... I do the same thing.  I usually run our airBridge
Indoor units at my house for around a week before deploying them just to
make sure the units are working properly.  While I've never had a
failure yet, I still think it's a best practice to test before unloading
something on a customer.  I do realize this is not an option for larger
operations, but it works well for me.

One thing we have done to avoid a lot of this kind of pain is to do
extensive testing in the shop with the various iterations before we
deploy.
While I am the first to admit the quality and reliability is no where
CLOSE
to our Alvarion equipment, it also costs about 1/4 to 1/5 as much.  So
with
that in mind, just take it slow and ring out the problems before you
have
the product in front of the client.
