This a follow up to my earlier post.

After getting back to the shop yesterday I plugged in the first unit.
Ethernet was working, I was able to associate to the AP on the roof.
I left it sitting there and had simple monitor open and on the link status page.
After about 45 minutes it lost association, shortly after that the ethernet went out.
The unit was warm to the touch, not what I'd call real hot.

I pulled another out of the box. Plugged in the powershot, 6 feet of cat-5, 2 feet of
LMR-400, and a Maxrad 8 dBi panel. Turned on the power and logged in. The only
changes I made was to scan for available access points and associated to our AP.
(it was the only AP the radio could see.)

Again, I left it sitting there and had simple monitor open and on the link status page.
54 minutes later, the radio lost association. The window at the bottom of Simple Monitor
showed "Unable to download network settings".

After that, 8 out of 10 tries (approx.) the radio would not show any AP when trying to select
from available access points. When it did find the AP and trying to associate to it, it would not.
If I typed in the ESSID, BSSID, channel, and preamble, and hit "set values". I would get the
popup "Infrastructure Values set successfully". Click on the link status tab and The window at
the bottom showed "Unable to download network settings".

The Mac of this fresh out of the box ABO is 00301A01DDFA

Am I doing anything wrong here except for obviously running off of a side lobe of the AP?
I've got a different on sitting on my desk right now and it's been running fine most of the day.

I am seeing a lack of quality on recently received radios also.
Today I installed a ABO and after about 20 minutes the ethernet
link would go down and back up for about 5 seconds. I tried to
put in the IP info and after that simple monitor couldn't find the
radio. Defaulted it. It worked for about 5 minutes and then lost
association. After that it couldn't see the ap. I then burned the
config using simple deploy. Radio then says "unable to download
network settings. After that, ethernet dies.

Head back to office to get another radio. I had unplugged the first radio
so I thought I'd check it. Ethernet now working, but only for a few minutes
before it drops and comes back.

New radio swapped in. Guess what. Can't see AP. Ehternet flakes
out after about 5 minutes.

Looks real impressive working in the customers office spending 6 hours
messing with radios.

Does Smartbridges have any official word on if they think there may be a
problem with the latest batch of radios?

We have had two new ( received about 2 weeks ago) Airbridge Totals fail
within a week. The problems with these seem to be on the RF side with one
having a 30% receive loss (as compared to other radio's at same location)
and the other not receiving at all. (Please no trouble shooting needed,
just want to know if anything is going on).

I hear ya!

The few new units that I've received work ok. The email problem I'm having
is tripping me out, but it's on my old radios. (well.. they're about 2
months old).

If anyone has an idea about this email sending problem, please speak up!

(just to recap... setting RTS numbers too low kills SMTP. Setting it too hig
bogs everything down with ACK failures and resends)

Thanks.
