The antenna setting doesn't really have any effect on the radio except to show up in the ERP calculator that is built in to Simple Monitor.  Don't worry about the antenna setting.  But if you set it to 13dB then the ERP calculator will show the actual radiated power out.  Concerning using the units as a bridge I would have recomended 2 air points.  But since you have the airBridge you might as well try it.  Use it as if it were a PTMP system, only with one client.

Hi Ian.

The problem is that the TOTAL has its own built in antenna.
It should know what's hooked up, no?

You need to change the configuration for your antenna, as it has no way
of knowing what you've hooked up. The TOTAL product probably isnt the
best for what your doing, but you should be able to get it to work.
I've only used smartBridges for AP / CPE solutions, so I cant offer any
more advice on that. My understanding is they are not too great for
backhauls. Best of luck.

I have an airBridge TOTAL and an airPoint TOTAL.

I want to create a simple backhaul and don't know which mode is best for

me.

I simply want to bridge one LAN to another LAN, point to point. The

distance

is about 1000'.

What is the best mode to configure this as? Reading the manual, it seems
that maybe I should be using two airPoints instead of an airPoint and an
airBridge?

Also, under the Dial-A-Power is lists my Antenna Type as being a 2.2, is
that correct?

Thanks!!
Rick
