Part15 Certification has nothing really to do with power. It's just
plain poor design that the unit can not handle the proper power
levels.
Heck I have a $130 unit that can take anything from 12V to 48V in to
the unit for power (it has a good power regulator on the ethernet
port). But What gets me is that the EnGenius CB3 can function greatly
with it's standard 12V powersupply at a minimum of 150ft if not even
200ft cat5 runs. If you want you can use 48V POE supply for a 10ft run
without killing the radio. If sB would replace a .90$ component with a
$1.50 component they to would be able to accept power levels up to
48V... (My understanding is that this is what they done with the new
X0 series since they now are 802.3af complaint = 48V DC).

BD> Exactly, hence the need for certification. :)

BD> My question is do you use 15V at 200 feet, 16V at 225 feet, 17V at 250
