Andy,

Now you have gone and really stepped in it with these comments. If you do
not like the Hi Tech Moldies fine but do not make derogatory comments about
those that choose to fly them. I for one am darn good builder and have
built several of the old Nostalgia birds and now choose not to waste my time
building stuff that no longer interests me to fly. For those that love to
fly the Nostalgia and RES more power to them. I am sure they have just as
much fun as I do. But do not bad mouth those of us who choose to move on
with our hobby and fly the latest and greatest that hobby has to offer. The
great thing about this hobby is that we can all make our own choices. As for
your comments about world class flyers not being able to build, why does it
have to be a Nostalgia bird? I have scratch built several composite vacuum
bagged planes and have been very competitive with them. Is it because you
do not have the skills to work with foam and composites? I think you might
be surprised at the number of world class pilots competing in F3B have been
heavily involved in designing and BUILDING several of planes flown in the
last F3B World Champs. Look at all of the stuff out there that has Joe
Wurts' and Daryl Perkins' influence and yes time spent building some of the
planes. Next time do some homework before jumping in with both feet in your
mouth.

See Ya,

Pat McCleave
