Technically, you are an american, albeit not from the united states.
If you called me American and you mean it like that, I wouldn't
complain. It would surprise me, but I wouldn't say it's wrong. But if
you say that Bush is my president, or that the government that replaces
him will be my government, you are saying that I am a USian.
