The direct subject of the message, allowing for several subjunctives, was to
convey the fact that the subject of some of Daniel's and my discussions was
predicated on the erroneous assumption on my part that he claimed subjective
allegiance to the Bald Eagle. Which is a carrion eater and scavenger among
other things. Imagine having that for the symbol of a country; at least
Canada has the Beaver, which is useful in building dams and providing work
for government employees, and the Loon which provides Loonsh-t which makes
up most of the marsh at the foot of our property.

Re-coffee houses, I refer to a company that has the same name as an office
implement. I've visited school staffrooms, yep, the coffees bad. But try
the coffee that I used to drink on midnight shift, tasted like something
awful, high in caffeine, but it kept me awake so I could drive the Old
Patrol Car until 0800.

Ah, but this is the Old Way, and it worked. No sending Canadian soldiers
home in body bags, no destroying villages just because someone {thinks?} it
might be a guerilla camp, and above all, IT WORKED.

On that issue I am technically a subject but don't consider myself
subjugated :-)

Daniel is much more complicated.

You obviously haven't visited the staffrooms in many UK schools ;-)

Snag is that when you interfere something else has a knock on effect. We
could say just nuke em, that will sort out the problem, but what about
afterwards? Problems in Iraq, Israel, Africa - we can see our
interference in all those, which is I guess why Star trek has the prime
directive :-) Unfortunately we are where we are so judgements have to be
made about where and when to interfere which is why we need good
politicians.
