Ah,

It seems that

Lights in models causes extreme slowdowns when the model is referenced.

I did not know that!

I'll check my scene (although I think I do just have Geo in the ref models)

Thanks Matt.

Adam.

If models aren’t showing up in your scene explorer, I’d lean towards thinking
there are some gremlins in the scene.  We have a similar problem while testing
2010 SP1 and occasionally on 2012 where models wouldn’t show up.  Usually was
caused by corrupt clusters or somebody was stupid enough to put lights inside
the model.

As a first step, I would edit the .scntoc in a text editor to offload all the
models (set active resolution to 0), then reload the scene.  All your pass and
partition settings should be unaffected and allow you to see if the duplication
slowness was due to something inside the models.

Subject: Pass Duplication reallllly slow.

Hi folks,

SI2013sp1

Sorry to interrupt the current B&C intrigue...but.

I've got a big scene with quite a few Passes (about 75),  but I've hit a major
slow down when handling them.

Duplicating a Pass can take aobut 3.5 minutes (I just tried it).

It doesn't matter how complex the Pass is (I just tested an empty Default Pass
with both partitions hidden).

Has anybody had this before or know what specifically might be slowing things
down?

Many thanks,

Adam.
