As far as being tough, I don't know. I remember hearing several stories from the hotel manager of a hotel that I stayed at (undisclosed location [sprinkler witness protection program]) for TWO YEARS that he was threatened with a shut down several times for being a day late with scheduling his inspections with the city or not having his "papers" in order. They considered THAT to be an impairment. I don't know I would qualify as the worst, but I think it would be fun for a little while. :) But nothing is as interesting as sprinkler design. (are ya readin' this George???) Fire Marshal Ken....I like that. What do ya say John D. - lookin' for a deputy. Lol! I don't believe he would be required to shut down but would have to implement an impairment procedure, part of which is a manned fire watch 24/7. I am sure there are some occupancies that would entail shutting down the operation, for instance high hazard occupancies, high occupant facilities (aka The Station), etc. I'll let our AHJ friends chime in on the specifics.
