If this is an atrium wall, the prescriptive requirements are in IBC 404. A code-required fire rated wall must have been tested by an approved agency such as UL. Two ways to get any-hour rating is with Fire-protection-rated glazing in the wall or using the Tyco WS sprinkler which is 2 hour only which obviously qualifies for 1 hour. But the glass wall MUST follow the construction in the listings. Here are links to the Tyco information and the ICC-NES report. http://www.tyco-fire.com/TD_TFP/TFP/TFP620_07_2005.pdf http://www.icc-es.org/reports/pdf_files/NES/NER516.pdf -- Best regards, Daniel Kaczor, Plans Examiner [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list [email protected] http://lists.firesprinkler.org/mailman/listinfo/sprinklerforum To Unsubscribe, send an email to:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (Put the word unsubscribe in the subject field)
