We have historically used standard spray sprinklers in order to
provide a 1 hr rating with ANY glass partition but technically (at
least the last time I did a search) it's only in the code (Life
Safety Code for sure) for glass in ATRIUMS. Even then you have the
wrinkle of MUST wet the ENTIRE glass surface.
The WS sprinkler can be used where ever in accordance with its
listing AND provides an equivalency for up to 2 hr rated construction.

I need to know if there is a code anywhere that states you can or
can not
use a standard pendant head as a window wash. I have a glass wall
that I
need to be fire rated and I have a contractor telling me by code he
can use
a pendant head instead of a deluge head or a Tyco window sprinkler.
The only
code I see that possibly address this is 21.20.1.2.1 and it only
says you
have to use automatic heads. Any help!!!!!
