K equals q over radical p
Wait a minute- are you serious?
Branchlines, and entire systems, have K factors, not just sprinkler heads.
Anything with a flow and a pressure, like a system demand, can be converted
to a K factor.

Example- a system with 100 gpm at 100 psi demand at FF.
Q=1000   p=100  so the K factor is 100.
If you only had 80 psi to the system, then 894 PSI would discharge out of
the flowing heads, since you'd take the sq root of 80 x the K factor, as if
it were a sprinkler head.

If you had a k factor of 35 for a rack system (250 gpm at 50 psi) with a
demand pressure at junction point of roof A.S. where the more demanding roof
system needed 100 PSI, then you'd adjust the flow of the rack system
increase by taking the square root of the roof system's higher pressure 100
Psi (SqRt=10) times the Kfactor of 35 to see the increased flow in the rack
system would be 350 GPM instead of 250 as a standalone, unbalanced.

In LPlain Text and without resorting to wordcad, that's the best I can do
remembering hand calcs in the 70's and 80's.
