We've got ROC in 2-1/2 weeks. I think it may be too late to make a public comment (Yes Roland, I should know this) but if anyone has a question or comment regarding this log, please send to me off-forum and I'll throw it into the discussion.

But I'm still confused. The proposed change to A.7.3.2 (also part of 14-53 Log#CP3) adds a sentence that reads "Only one standpipe is necessary to serve the roof, it is not the intent to extend each standpipe to the roof level." OK, let's say we have 3 stairways and 3 standpipes. Stairway 1 has roof access, stairway 2 & 3 don't. Per 7.3.2(5), we install a valve at the highest landing in stairway 1. Per 7.3.2(5), we install a valve above the roof at stairways 2 and 3. So I'm having a hard time understanding how "Only one standpipe is necessary to serve the roof, it is not the intent to extend each standpipe to the roof level" should be interpreted. I don't see anything in 14-53 Log#CP3 that mentions testing. Ed Kramer Littleton, CO > The intent of CP #3 is to clarify the intent that there only needs to be > a single roof connection to facilitate testing. The language remains > regarding a connection at the highest landing of stairs serving roof > access. Many AHJ's will require manifolds at the top of all standpipes > arbitrarily, as they perceive a potential value in suppression > operations. > > Steve > _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list http://lists.firesprinkler.org/mailman/listinfo/sprinklerforum For Technical Assistance, send an email to: [email protected] To Unsubscribe, send an email to:[email protected] (Put the word unsubscribe in the subject field) __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 3971 (20090328) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 3971 (20090328) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list http://lists.firesprinkler.org/mailman/listinfo/sprinklerforum For Technical Assistance, send an email to: [email protected] To Unsubscribe, send an email to:[email protected] (Put the word unsubscribe in the subject field)
