There are a few cons with the program. It is not and AutoCAD program, so sharing files with other trades requires minor work. Also, I don't like the prints after you export to AutoCAD. You will want to print from MEPCad.
In AutoCAD, if you properly use XREF files, when the architect issues a change, you just save the new drawing to your directory and it comes in. AutoSprink requires you to reimport the file to get the new changes. Not a big deal, but does take some extra time. The clean up tools are nice, but there are some in AutoCAD / HydraCAD that are better than AutoSprink. But, AS has some of its clean up tools that are better than AutoCAD. Speaking of that, the text cleanup is not fun. HydraCAD has one of the best text cleanup tools I have seen. In AutoSprink, you have to grab each pipe text and move it. There is no automatic pipe text cleanup. Again, the upsides are far greater than the downsides. On 12/31/2009 2:10 PM, Rod DiBona wrote: > Thanks for the input Bobby.
