I need help before I make a mistake and insult a PE. Does anyone have recent experience in this area that can help with a few questions:
1) The Severity of the exposure per 80A 2) The meaning of the requirement to calculate ANY 300' section - I assume - but does it indeed mean even if there are multiple deluge systems on one side of the concourse that you must calculate 300 feet regardless so you would have multiple systems flowing in their entirety? Just so you understand, this is an existing concourse with 2 deluge systems on each side. There are 36 nozzles (Viking C-1 window sprinklers) on one system calculated at 7 psi min per NFPA 13 througha 2" deluge valve and the system doesn't work by 200 psi. We are only supposed to be modifying the system and I did the calcs for proof for us. We obviously cannot participate in this game with such a deficit. AND if I have to include any 300' along the building and have to flow both of those deluge system simultaneously, well we are in serious trouble and I will have to explain this to people who don't know this subject.
