Subject: Through wall penetration with sprinkler heads

We have a situation that has been talked about in the past but I can't
remember what was resolved.
Back to back sprinkler heads in a double 2X4 fire rated wall. The
exception in the IBC 712.3.2 #3
deals with membrane penetrations and sprinkler escutcheon. What happens
when you have
a through penetration such as B/B sprinklers? There is no exception in
section 712.3.1 of the IBC
for sprinkler escutcheons in through penetrations and the manufacture
states that you cannot fire caulk
a sprinkler escutcheon. Would we need to use the donk style sprinkler
esch and fire caulk around the pipe?

Thanks,
