Normal, as compared to what? We've had nearly infinite growth in activity
(something/0) compared to last year but to a few years ago we're still doing
next to nothing. I think now is the new normal and a lot closer to 0. Give
us 4-6 years and we MIGHT be closer to the normal of a 3 years ago. At
least in these parts our decline started in '07. I believe many parts were
way behind us in the fall and are way ahead in the recovery. MN and I
suspect MI are high tax, high regulation, high government States. All
factors in wrecking a good business climate. OK now tell me it also has
something to do with I live closer to the North Pole than the Equator in
real terms and climate terms. Yes it did snow very little 10 days ago. But
I also think it snowed near Thom yesterday.

Check out this site showing, if you "play it", the collapse and recovery on
a state by state basis. You'll note most of the country is in recovery
which again just means something more than when they were at the bottom. No
comparison to normal.
