Greg,
In that case you would have to go to the manufacturer of the hose in
question because of differing linings ,etc. But it would be more accurate
to have the Fire Department tell you the pressure & flow they can give
you at the 2 FDC's as they are the water purveyors at that point. You do
not control how long the 3" hose will be on any given day, there may be a
SEMI parked in the way and they will have to drag hose another 200 ft.So
there go your calculations.Just a thought!

We are calculating 1,250 gpm fed through two FDC's which in turn are
fed by
3" hoses (per the Fire Department) ...

Never knew there was a 3" hose????Is this a manual wet or dry
standpipe?Either way the 500 gpm requirement is at the FDV on the
standpipe, unless I have missed something (which is very possible!).

If you have to calculate a manual standpipe, what HW coefficient do
you
use
for standard fire hoses?
and what internal diameter is a 3" hose?
Thanks,
