65 PSI is required at the valve outlet, but you are on to a very
important consideration. Depending on hose type, actual inside
diameter and the pressure class of the nozzle or tip, you may require
more pressure.

Off the topic, your query pertains to Class II - ask the responding fire
department if they even want Class II in the building (regardless of
what the code says). It may well serve everyone's needs better if
these stations were eliminated in favor of the Class III exception in
sprinklered buildings or placed as just 1.5" or 2.5" hose valves at a
pressure to be specified by the FD.

The foregoing is my opinion only and does not necessarily represent the
opinion or intent of the NFPA 14 Technical Committee on Standpipe and
Hose Systems.

Subject: NFPA 14

Standpipe systems shall be one of the following:
(1) Hydraulically designed to provide the required waterflow rate at
a
minimum residual pressure of 100 psi (6.9 bar) at the outlet of the
hydraulically most remote 21/2-in. (63.5-mm) hose connection and 65 psi
(4.5
bar) at the outlet of the hydraulically most remote 11/2-in. (38.1-mm)
hose
station.

65 psi is required at the end of the 100 foot long 1 1/2" hose or at the
beginning? I would say at the beginning as that would be the outlet of
the
hose stations. But would like other opinions.

Thanks,

Tony
