I once ran a scenario where ten 36" ducts ran parallel, 18" below the
ceiling deflectors, with a 1" gap between each. Make the ducts 47" if you
like and the gaps 3" if you like. Meets the rule but you essentially would
have 30-50 feet of solid with waterfalls every three or four feet. I can't
remember whether it was Phil or Roland that wrote the informal response to
my question, whomever agreed that it met the standard. Fixing this little
loophole?
