IFC (2012) 905.4.1 requires hose valves to be on intermediate landings, unless approved otherwise. NFPA 14 (2010) 7.3.2 requires hose valves to be on the main landing, unless required otherwise, per 7.3.2.1. The IFC specifically references NFPA 14-10 for 905.4.2, but not 905.4.1.
My question is, when both documents are referenced as adopted standards, with no exceptions mentioned, which document takes precedence? James Litvak
