Steve,
that is very typical of a plan reviewer who doesn't understand the impact of a smaller C-Factor on your calculations resulting in a greater friction loss per foot, effectively generating an over-designed system. If you had to spend two man hours to resolve that, then shame on the reviewer. similar to a question I received this week, "What do you mean by 'required deflector distance"?
sigh,

We have an over-zealous plans reviewer worried about the in-building riser sweep we use to transition from UG to OH. We’ve spent 2 man-hours to account for a .03 PSI pressure differential. But righteousness has prevailed and we can add a node and document the sweep now, so our plans reviewer should be able to sleep for the rest of the week. I’m embarrassed at our sloppiness, using 140 for 10 critical feet of pipe and whatnot.

This is why Chapter 17 of my great novel is tentatively titled “Why Stevie Drinks”.

Just curious about the application Steve, if it's not too proprietary?
I was going to guess foam concentrate piping but I think that requires Darcy instead of Hazen whereby you would need the friction factor instead of the c-factor...
So, uhhh????

Don't feel bad, I went through the exact same exercise last October. LOL. Right there the whole time but read over it a half dozen times until someone on this form was kind enough to point it out to me.

Does anyone know the C-factor of stainless steel and/or have a reference to a
materials standard that substantiates that value?
Thanks,
Steve L.
