Clear as mud yet Joe?
I hate to bother you but the last time I read NFPA 25 it was NFPA 13A
('care and feeding' we called it), and it is indisposed from me at the
moment.
My questions for you is about the 1st line of your 3rd paragraph, removing
the flushing connection every 5 years checking for foreign material:
1) you only do that for wet systems, not dry or pre-action, right?
2) do you do that for wet systems using CPVC pipe?
3) what is your (or 25's) definition of 'foreign material'?

thanks, brad
