Anthony: You gotta keep reading ... following the section you referenced (I think you typo'd and left out the 1 after 9.2), is section 9.2.1.3.3.2 which states that when the ceiling is supporting the flexible hose drop it must meet certain 3rd party standards. That the ceiling must conform to the referenced ASTM requirements is also part of the listing limitations of all flexible hose connections.

Thus as long as you are installing per the manufacturers instructions then you are good.
