Oke so if i understand correctly, without avahi-daemon it would work with spotty.
Spotty unfortunately might crash if avahi was running. Doesnt' mean it cannot be used: it would turn off local discovery. Spotty under those circumstances is only visible to Spotify clients logged in with the same user account as the spotty helper.
