Just a thought, there is probably going to need to be a time when you'll need to boot the machine off the System CD-ROM, so it would be a good idea to make sure that whatever drive (CD-ROM, CD-RW, etc) you buy will let you boot the 'Max off it.
There was a little project a while back to compile a list of drives that support this, I don't know what became of it, I had a quick look on the StarMax 4000 page: http://www.lowendmac.com/moto/index.shtml on LEM and I don't see this information. Perhaps someone else will know what became of it. - Daniel. -- StarMax is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... / Buy books, CDs, videos, and more from Amazon.com \ / <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/lowendmac> \ Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> StarMax list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/starmax.html> Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/starmax%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Macintosh?
