Hey MacSheep,

Really, I am very sorry for being so rude to you. I regretted it the moment
that I hit that send key. I was wrong to be flippant and rude and nothing
excuses me for being this way.

You are right in that eBay isn't the safest place to buy stuff. One needs to
be a very careful and knowledgeable buyer on eBay and even then, one can be
burned on an eBay transaction. I'm not sure if I would classify eBay as the
"wild, wild west" but I can certainly understand why one would be a bit more
than leery about using eBay as a buying resource. I've been burned a few
times on my eBay purchases. But many more times than not, I've gotten exactly
what was promised on eBay auctions. There were even a few times that I
received far more than what was promised. Many eBay sellers are honest and
ethical and it is wrong of you to slam the whole lot simply because some
sellers are less than ethical. I'm shocked that you didn't slam the eBay
buyers with equal zest ... I've seen a lot of evidence that people on eBay
are more spooked about non-performing buyers.

It is so wrong of you to condemn all of eBay just because there are a some
sellers or buyers that aren't ethical.

I fully understand why you would recommend a reputable dealer over anything
else. I would too if this person asked for just one person's opinion. But a
question posted on this board asks thousands of people what they think. It
wasn't wrong of me to question the price and resource that you recommended
--- it was just wrong of me to flippant and to insult you. For this I can't
apologize enough.

Even though I never recommended eBay as a source to buy this drive, I can see
that I implied it. It was wrong of me not to include the standard "buyer
beware" warning. I'm glad that you reposted to remind everyone reading our
conversation that one must be stay alert.

Grin, I stand witness to telling you all to stay alert to everything you read
or hear.... yesterday I finally got through to Motorola and they said that I
had the upgraded SCSI cable (because it was the multi colored cable). Even
so, I persuaded them to send me a new one. I hope that what they send to me
works. The person that I talked to never heard of a cable that had circuit
boards on it. And yes, I called CompUSA and the other "local" Motorola
service dealer ---- they don't have a clue as to what I'm talking about. They
scare me. Damn, I'm even more scared for our England readers .... you guys
are in more trouble than we shmucks in the Colonies; huh?

Again, I'm sorry for insulting you MacSheep. I was wrong in being so flippant
and abusive I don't know what came over me. Please, please accept my most
sincere apology.

Linda

PS: I'm not good at apologizing, so I asked someone to look at this email.
They said I didn't apologize well enough ... that I placed fault somewhere
other than myself. God, I don't know how to do this better .... I'm sorry and
I was wrong. I was wrong and never should have spoke up. I was wrong and I'll
never make this mistake again. I'm really sorry.
