I would say try out the following-portsentry
http://www.psionic.com/abacus/portsentry/ - install it first. You'll need
to change the conf file in an editor.
Install Firestarter after and it should do you fine. In portsentry if your a
newbie like me, then have it sound a wav. to let you know when your being
scanned..
Once you feel your up and running go over to http://grc.com/ and test
yourself out in the portscan..
Looking for some help getting libpcap and snort running anyone able to give
a helping hand?
Also I keep reading about Stormix being in the red but I have yet to see
anything official so would someone mind providing the data to verify this
claim.
Also for those of you who read Maximum Linux Magazine- You might want to
head over to sourceforge.net and read the article on it. A few other sites
have posted info on the topic as well.
