ok ok I know some of you out there are gonna blush and say what a newbie but
hey I'm not gonna deny it =) I'm a Linux Hatchling!
Ok question for you wise and knowledgeable ones- My time clock on my linux
box says Jan 1997 and the time is wrong- How in the world do I change it?
I've checked in the Man and cant seem to find it, or I'm looking in the
wrong place. Also I see everyone talking about apt-get but when I tried
doing apt-get it never seems to work . Heres what I did with the apt-get. So
how do I use apt-get and yes I'm getting a book on Linux from O'Reily.
apt-get update
apt-get install libpcap- and I put the version here didnt work
same thing for snort
Couldnt find package -title of package-
I tried doing it via the
tar -xvzf libpcap with the latest version
./configure
make
make install
install
I did snort right after and well it said libpcap was not installed
so would someone mind giving me a helping hand via the list or private.
