Thousands?
Yes. there perhaps only 1/1000's or 1/10000's of the actual users
actually frequent the newsgroups, forums and such. what opinions are
represented here, are the people that frequent here. They have no
resemble to the people that Use SeaMonkey, FireFox, ThunderBird and have
no idea these support forums are even here. Plus many ISP's and cable,
Phone Companies are going away with news servers, or even limiting
email. So there are *many* users that don't even know we exist.
So forgive me for asking the obvious, but would not it be possible to
have the install routine display a notice of "our" existence? Better
yet, to have it included somehow in the Help menu?
This newsgroup has invaluable information and by keeping users abreast
of issues, comments and so on, shores up the interest they have in a
product we love.
I agree but if one goes to Mozilla page for SeaMonkey, FireFox,
Thunderbird unless its buried in fine print. There is no mention of a
support venue. There are places to click for if you want to know what
changed since last version and where to get nightlies and so on The main
page designed more for people like us that are willing to be beta or
alpha testers, or developers but as John Q Public that know little more
than how to turn on or off his /her computer they are out of luck.
If you examine just our postings here. There are maybe at the most 20-30
people that actually do most of the posting.
I suspect its done on purpose. So that they don't have to worry about a
newbie getting on and answering a question all of know how to get to,
blindfolded and one hand tied behind our back, do in our sleep.
