I booted the system with logging turned on from CD and the system seemed
to hang when trying enumerate UART3. 

Wait, there are only two com ports on the outside of the case!

I rebooted to the BIOS and found BIOS setting for Com ports 1 through
4.  i disabled Com Ports 3 & 4 in the BIOS and all is now well and I
have a working pfSense box.
