? the latency of a convolver has nothing to do with the length of the kernel, only with its own blocksize. with a standard pc, it should be easily possible to get under 3 ms latency, even less if you're prepared to upsample your hrtfs and content to 96k (and burn twice as much cpu, and waste storage). in any case, you can make use of the full length of the hrtfs.
