Hi Ben,
}- Nonononononono... MS-DOS was written by T[oi]m Patterson at
}- Seattle Computer Products as QDOS (Quick and Dirty Operating
}- System), being a clone of CP/M. MS bought the rights to QDOS
}- when IBM approached them after talks with DRI regarding CP/M
}- became a bit frustrating. MS then modified QDOS slightly for
}- MS-DOS v1, then wrote a lot more for the other versions (v2
}- introduced subdirectories for instance).
}- CP/M was based sort of on Unix IIRC by Digital Research.
Thanks very much for clearing this up for me... :)
Boanne
