Only if it has both elements of GUI, such as menus and and selection
tagging, and the element of CLI which basicly means a fully
interactive and availble command line, then i'll call it
a GUI/CLI combination. Because thats what it will be. Both elements
together. However, if it will be only CLI or only GUI, which are still
costumisable but without offering any of the other's elements,
then I wouldnt call it GUI/CLI. I might call it "Comfortable", if
it will be designed in a comfortable to use way, but I wouldnt
call it a GUI/CLI since it wouldnt BE a GUI/CLI combination. ;)
BTW, while windows is GUI and can call up a DOS window,
I still wouldnt call it a "good GUI/CLI", simply because the
interactivity between both of them is not the best. It just
sums up in you being able to call up Windows programs from the
DOS window command line. But you cant really do more then that,
such as give commands to the GUI from the CLI, or give commands
to the CLI from the GUI. There's no real interface between the
two. After all, the general idea of GUI/CLI as I get it is that
it wouldnt be 2 separete prorgams trying to work together, but
one program with 2 implementions of interface types working in
the same time, with the user being able to choose which elements
of each of the interfaces he/she would like to have and use.
Take Command from JPSoftware seems to be almost there. But still
not completly.
