I also really got a chance to really cut my teeth on LaTeX when I was doing my
first graduate thesis. I hate to sound arrogant, but when you layed down a
document typeset using LaTeX again something produced by Word{Perfect}, there
was no comparison. Now tables were a pain in the a**, as well as encapsulated
postscript for figures, but once you master that, you were good to go!
