I would probably take out Brokenburr .. He had a great domestic season
running his PR but did not fare well lin Europe .. Which according to the
rankings should carry more weight ..

Agreed .. Shouldn't matter who you are .. MO, MJ, Carl Lewis .. It shouldn't
matter .. You should have to get out there and show your stuff against the
best .. Showing up for one or two events and wining should not be enough ..
Even if it is the Olympics or Worlds .. You get your medals for those
competitions .. The rankings should be something else entirely .. Not an
extra award for performing in the big meet .. The question would be "How Was
Your SEASON??" .. And if you didn't have much of one then the ranking should
reflect that .. And you shouldn't penalized if you are an American sprinter
or a Kenyan steeplechaser or an individual from any country that is deep in
an event .. There must be some allowances for the fact that the Olympics and
Worlds can ONLY take 3 from a country .. Which means that not necessarily
the BEST in the world are competing against each other .. In some cases the
BEST go at it in National championships .. One should be able to protect
one's ego by not racing not one's ranking position ..
